Mike Eldred: Say Hello

Robyn Robertson Clement

September 5, 2008

Hey Mike!
Talk about a name from the past! Someone with your name (obviously not you) came up on my LinkedIn website for patent and trademark on a wave energy device. When I finally figured out it wasn't you, I was so thankful that you didn't waste your incredible talent on "wave energy." It sounds like you are doing awesome. What a great career and an incredible opportunity to use your gift. A good friend of mine, Leeland Mooring, is a young christian contemporary singer out of Nashville now. He reminds me alot of you way back in our high school days. If you ever run into him, pass on the encouragement. Well take care and I am really glad "Mike the Wave Engineer" needed some advice to spur my curiosity to look you up. It sounds like you are doing wonderful and I am really excited for you.

God Bless

My husband, Ken, and daughter, Jennie Matson enjoyed your concert at "The Ned" in Jackson on Sat. afternoon. As always, you performed a great show. We love to hear you sing, and was so pleased that you sang Esmarelda at the end of the show. We've been waiting for you to sing our favorite song, and thank Jeff for passing the request along. You and Jeff Steiberg are so talented, but when combined talents like these share the stage, it is a wonderful experience. We never tire of listening to your cds, ME and Let it Begin. We're waiting anxiously for your next project. Thanks for letting me get a picture. God Bless you, June Winter

Mike,
Sorry, I haven't stopped back by recently, life is just so busy. Yes, I am married but not to the guy you saw me get married too. I married a wonderful man! I have three beauttiful children of my own (one is adopted) and 2 step kids. My husband, Charlie is in the Army and we moved to Raleigh, NC from Hawaii (best post to date). I have become a homebody and love to work on my yard and hang out with my family. All the moving has worn this girl out! I think of you often and I send you thoughts of happiness and joy! You've always been a heck of a catch! take care

Greatly enjoyed hearing you when you were in Indy with Jim Brickman. The power in your voice was truly a gift of God, so inspiring I could literally feel it. I am hopeful that you will be in the Indiana area soon and also recording again. Blessings.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond! It's been a while since I've checked these messages. I normally try to do it at least once a week...but the time has gotten away from me. My apologies.

Deb, it's always so great to hear from you. I hope everything in your world is wonderful. I do hope you are able to make it up to Fort Worth for Valentines Day...it's been way too long since I've seen you. But, I understand if the opera makes it impossible for you to do that weekend. I would LOVE to hear you sing again some day! Thanks for checking in.

Deb, I'm so glad you enjoyed the Whitefish concert. It was such a great night for me....I love it here in Montana so much. I'm heading back to Nashville soon, but I promise to return with more music and hopefully a new CD/DVD soon.

Nancy, the September concert is still in the planning stages at this point. We are working on recording this concert to be aired on television and the internet. It will be available in DVD, CD and other digital formats. I promise to keep you posted on this project as it develops! Thanks for checking in...and happy Anniversary!

Ben and Tom,
Great meeting both of you as well.....and LOVED those dogs! I hope you all are well and enjoying your travels. I'm so glad you were able to check out Whitefish...and that you found me online. I have no plans on the schedule for Oregon or Palm Springs....but check back on my calendar every now and then. I'd love to see you again and share some good music with you! My travels take me all across this beautiful country....so maybe that will happen soon. Thanks for checking in.

Sandy! Forgive my lack of good communication via phone....life is a bit crazy (as usual) with traveling and performing...and working on new projects, etc. My family is great....they were out here in Montana back in May for a while. My parents just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Wow. Time moves on, doesn't it? Hope you are well....and tell Lanny I said hello. 20 plus years ago!!!

Thanks to all of you for continuing to stop by. It's always great to hear from you. I'm currently working my butt off on this new DVD/TV special. Please check back for details and new developments!

Thanks for listening!

Hi Mike,
Just stopped by to see what is going on with you these days. I listened to the "Eva Rose" song. It was beautiful, as usual. I'm going to do my best to get up to the Dallas area when you are there, but I've got opera contracts so not sure how it will work out with my rehearsal/performance schedule. Gotta run. Just wanted to say HI. Love, Deb Alons

Hey Everyone!!

Thanks again for the KIND comments! It makes all that I do seem worthwhile when I get these sorts of notes from you. Know that it is immensely appreciated when you take the time to say hi.

Jody, I hope you and your family enjoyed the concert the other night. I can't think of a night I've enjoyed more in a long time! The Flathead audience is by far the best anywhere! Thanks for coming and I hope you keep listening!

Peg, the flight is not really that bad....I swear. It may just have to be one of those fears you have to face and conquer my love! It would be great to have you all out here at some point. You would absolutely FLIP over this place!

Geoff, TRUTH, huh? That was OH so many years ago my friend! But thank you so much for your continued support and for taking the time to say hello. I'll consider the facebook option....I haven't looked in to it yet.

Camille, thank you so much for coming last weekend and for buying a cd. I'm so sorry you doubled up! If you'll send me an email at mike@mikeeldred.com and include your information I'll make sure you get the right one. I only have two CDs available right now (ME and Let It Begin) so just let me know what you would like and we'll try to work it out. Thanks again! And thanks for standing...you started the ball rolling!

Carmon, great hearing from you! I've called and left you a message....you can also email me at mike@mikeeldred.com.

Mike---I'm a big fan, and loved your show in Whitefish last Sat. Thanks so much for such a beautiful evening.
I bought your CD, and came home to find that I had bought the same CD last time you sang here. Does anyone have the other CDs in this area? I have tried to call, but don't seem to get anyone except ticket info for other performances. I would love to swap it, and perhaps get another CD. It was pretty wild that night, and I just didn't look. Thanks for your gifts, and talent and hard work. You are very special, and I send my good wishes to you and your marvelous pianist. Camille Carstens (standing alone during God Bless America-----then joined by everyone---great!)

I am pumped about the 7/5 Montana show. I have family coming in to celebrate our 25th and their 50th anniversaries and you are going to be a highlight of our party. You and ATP have opened a theatrical world to many people young and old we hold dear. I can hardly wait! When 14 yr. old boys are humming show tunes you know you've hit the mark. Thanks! I know your show will be fantastic.

June 15, 2008

WOW! Thank you all for my birthday messages! It made my day. I had a GREAT bday out here in the mountains of Montana. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and say hello....it means so much to me.

Hi Mike, It has been awhile since I wrote. I'm still enjoying your CDs, but hope that Houston or surrounding area will be in your plans in the near future. I did see some dates in Ft. Worth. I may just have to head up there.

April 23, 2008

Jeff,

Wow. To be completely honest I don't really remember all of them. But I can tell you that it was when Mark Lowry was a member of the Vocal Band. Mark hated going into the studio so Bill would call me to do all of the harmonies and background vocals. It seems like one of the projects was called "A Few Good Men". I recall that Mike English and I did most of the vocals on that CD. It's been SO long ago...but those days were much fun! If you'll check the credits on some of those old recordings you'll see that I'm usually mentioned in the "thank you" section, but not listed as a vocalist. They didn't want to confuse anyone. This takes me back!

Jeff Gurnett

April 20, 2008

Cool, MIke. Which recordings were you on?

April 11, 2008

Hey Jeff,

Yep....that's me. I worked with the Gaithers for several years. Several live concerts...several recordings. That was OH so many years ago.....thanks for checking in.
Mike

Jeff Gurnett

April 7, 2008

Hi Mike - Did you ever do some gigs with the Gaither Vocal Band?

March 21, 2008

Happy Easter to all!

Great hearing from everyone. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a message.

Jonathon, I have no current plans to be in the Boston area anytime soon, but I will certainly keep you posted here on the site if something comes up. I've been speaking with the Boston Pops there recently and am hoping to book something on their schedule in the future. One of the GREATEST cities in the country. I've spent some time there and always love it. I hope you'll keep checking back for possible dates in your area. Thanks for checking with me...and I certainly appreciate your kind words. I love the song "Hear Me" as well....one of my favorites to sing. Keep on listening!

Nancy...always great to hear from you. No, no plans for another Broadway show at the moment. But, I'm always looking for the next great thing! I'm working on some concerts in the upcoming season and I'll be posting them soon on my calendar. Keep checking back and stopping in to say hi. Happy Easter to you as well.

Mark...always nice to meet another Eldred...we are so rare! Was Cal your cousin? Not a big baseball fan, so I'm not sure if that's who you're speaking of or not. But, I'd love to hear you sing sometime! I get to your area every now and then, so I'll be sure to keep you posted on the next visit. Thanks for saying hello.

Pat....again, another Eldred! Wow. I'm in Indy often, as a matter of fact twice in the last year. I'm a regular with the symphony and am talking about going back there soon. I'll keep you posted here on the site with any upcoming concerts in the Indy area. Thanks for stopping by....it's great to hear from you!

Enjoy Spring everyone. It's so beautiful here in Nashville right now. With this weather as freaky as it is these days, we have to enjoy every moment...in the moment.

Thanks again for listening!
Mike

When will you be near Indianapolis? We have many Eldreds around the area. Good luck...

Mark Eldred

March 12, 2008

I was googling to see a current review of a Carmina Burana that I sang recently in Indiana and came across your website. As you see we have very similar names, and I am a tenor as well living an working in Chicago. I would love to hear you sing live sometime. If you're ever in the Chicago area drop me an e-mail, maybe we can sing together sometime. I'm originally from Iowa. My cousin was a pro baseball player for the Brewers/White Sox/Cardinals. Now there's another Eldred on the White Sox. No relation that I know of. Take care, I enjoyed your website and sound clips. All the best,
Mark Eldred

March 7, 2008

Hi Mike,
I was wondering if you have any plans to perform in the Boston area anytime soon? I saw you a while back with Jim Brickman---and MAN, can you sing! I loved your version of Hear Me--it was touching and great appreciated. I hope that maybe you'll come to some of the great jazz bars we have in Boston, such as Sculler's in Cambridge. I know you'd back the house---I know I'd come. Thanks for sharing your wonderful gift of your music and voice. I hope to see you in the area soon. Also, your Christmas CD is awesome!! How'd you ever find such great pieces?!?!?!?

February 25, 2008

June and Ken,

Thanks for stopping by! I'm so glad you made it to the Madisonville concert....Jeff and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I'm also thrilled that you like the Holiday CD. I really wanted it to be more of an "event" than a recording...sort of like what you experience when you listen to the Carpenter's Christmas. That is my favorite album to listen to each December.

Check back for upcoming dates in the Kentucky/Tennessee area. Should have more coming soon.

Dawn!
Great to hear from you. Wow...that's taking me back a LONG time. Thanks for looking me up! My mother and father are both great...doing well here in Nashville. My brother and his wife are raising three kids (well, one's pretty much raised and on his own now) and having a good life. I LOVE what I'm doing...I'm the luckiest guy on the planet. Of course I remember you! Thanks for taking the time to write and please keep in touch!

Kristy,
Wow...it's like old home week. Did you and Dawn know each other? It's so good hearing from you...glad you're still singing and directing and helping to make this world a better place! It would be great to catch up in person at some point. I just recently agreed to work next year (Valentine's Day) with the Fort Worth Symphony...maybe then?? I was in Dallas a couple of years ago with Jim Brickman, but that was the last time. I'll let you know if anything comes up in that area before next February. If not...maybe I'll see you then!

Thanks for checking in and taking the time to write! Please keep in touch....everyone.

Hey You! I just googled you to catch up! Wow - impressive. I am directing a summer musical for the High School Bye Bye Birdie and there is a kid a lot like you - Went to state - great tenor. Anyway he reminded me of you! Just want you to know I miss you and hope you are doing well. I am an old married lady with two kids and work in advertising. Love to sing still! Anyway - hope your doing well and I would love to see you sometime. Let me know if you are ever in the Dallas area.

I'll keep you posted on when I'm coming back your way.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks to all of you who took the time to come out and see the Holiday Spectacular in Baltimore! It was great fun...and I hope it did it's job in putting you into the Holiday SPIRIT! I hope that your holidays are peaceful and filled with love.

Shawn...no accompaniment tracks are available from the new CD. Sorry about that....but it's always a good thing to make REAL music whenever you can! Everything can be done with just a piano or guitar. That's how I do it when I don't always have an entire orchestra behind me. See if you can't find someone to play for you!

Nancy....great meeting you. Happy Birthday and thank you so much for listening!

Julie.....same to you and yours. Thank you for always checking in!

Neal....great meeting you as well! It was a PARTY in your salon. Thanks for making me beautiful (LOL) for the concerts. See you soon.

Happy New Year to all!!

Mike

very merry Christmas and happy new year!

I have been enjoying your wonderful Christmas CD (and
have given it to friends for Christmas presents) :-)
...thank you for brightening up our holidays with your
beautiful voice and such fun songs that add merriment
as well as moving ones that lead our hearts to ponder
the true meaning of Christmas.

God bless and keep you in the new year! Joy and peace
to you! Hope it's not long before I get to see you
perform again!

Love,
Margaret

Mike
I just wanted to again thank you for the pictures at the Meyerhoff Holiday show. It was a great pleasure meeting you. You really and truly did a marvelous job and your singing is so terrific, I could listen to you all day. I couldn't have celebrated an early birthday (12/22) in a better way. God Bless you and Merry Christmas.

I do not have your new CD and will be there after the show with camera in hand. We usually get there early before the show starts. Just look for a old gray headed lady in green with glasses. I will try to wave to you from our seat

Hello. I was wondering if the music accompaniment tracks from your new Christmas CD can be special ordered. I would LOVE to sing with some of those great arrangements. Let me know.

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

December 13, 2007

Nancy! See you then....

I do have a new HOLIDAY CD as of last Christmas. Do you have that one yet? If not I'll make sure you do. I'll be in the lobby after the performance to say hello and help put your camera to good use!

Glad you're coming! It's a great show that will really help put you into the holiday spirit.

See you soon,

mike - cleveland

December 6, 2007

mike,
mike - several years ago, i was present for two of your impressive performances here in cleveland. we had a chance to talk a bit afterward, and happened to see each other on your trip to the airport. was wondering if you have any scheduled events in the cleveland area coming up this year.

December 2, 2007

Happy December everyone! My favorite time of year.

Thanks again for keeping in touch here....it's fun to keep up with you here....I appreciate you checking in from time to time.

Tim....nothing on the west coast at this point, but I'm sure something will come up soon. Keep checking back! I was in Seattle with the symphony there a few months ago. I LOVE that city.

Robin.....I'll let you know if anything comes up in NC..it looks like a possibility in the near future. Again, keep checking here for updates. It's always great to hear from you.

Richard...great meeting you in Seattle. Sorry you missed the concert. We had great fun! Nice piece on the gallery...I absolutely love your place. Next time I'm there I'll definitely stop by. Tell Jim I said hello and look forward to visiting with you guys on the next trip to Seattle.

Sandy.....there's a promotional video in my EPK page on this site. It's a compilation of several performances. It's impossible when you work with symphonies to get recordings....it's against their union rules. So, unfortunately, nothing recent to share on video. There are a couple of performances available on youtube.com with Dennis DeYoung. Those are pretty cool and relatively recent....just search Dennis' name in youtube. I performed with him on a PBS Soundstage special. Always good to hear from you!

Linda, Happy Holidays to you as well. Thanks for your kind words about the Indy Yuletide concert. It was a GREAT show! I'm sure the Baltimore concerts will be spectacular as well. I'm looking forward to beginning rehearsals this week. I'm also enjoying my last couple of days at home here in Nashville before my "busy season" begins. It's always tough to leave home this time of year. But, I so love what I do!

Patricia...thanks for your kind words. I wish you a happy holiday season as well....and keep checking back for a Chicago visit!

I wish you all a VERY happy holiday season and hope you enjoy peace, warmth and calm during this high stress time of year!

Peace,
Mike

Miss seeing you this holiday season, Mike. Hopefully one day soon you will be back in the Chicago area!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING Mike to you and your family. Here's hoping that you will have a VERY BLESSED Thanksgiving as you start what will be a very busy season for you. Wishing you much success with ALL of the Christmas shows with the Baltimore Symphony. If they are ANYTHING like the fantastic Yuletide Celebration here in Indianapolis that I so enjoyed from last year.....I have no doubt you will enjoy much success. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your family. Linda

Hi Mike,

How are things going? Just wanted to let you know that I play your CD at the gallery alot and I've had people ask what CD is playing and write it down for them. Sorry I didn't get to see you perform but Jim sure loved it. Is this the best way to get ahold of you? I got a little exposure last week on tv for the gallery. You can see me online at www.seattlechannel.org/galleryhop

Hope all is well

All my best

Hey, Mike! I relocated to North Carolina this year, so was hoping to find a time that you might be doing something in my neighborhood. It looks like your schedule has you traveling in the opposite direction these days! Let me know if you are ever going to be in NC, or even in eastern TN!

Oh, and watch out for those over 40 comments!

October 13, 2007

Hey all....thanks for the comments! It's good to be relaxing for a few weeks finally!

Nancy, I'm always in the lobby after all of my performances saying hello, signing CDs, etc. That's the best way to find me.....and I don't charge for it! LOL.

Patrick...great meeting you too..and working with you. It's amazing that we haven't crossed paths before this with all the things/people we have in common. I look forward to more!

Tim...wow, that was SO VERY long ago. Sorry, but my memory left me years ago, thousands of miles ago, and hundreds of thousands of people ago. I'm not proud of it, but that's what happens when you're OVER 40! Good to hear from you though...and thanks for checking in.

Sandy....it is Chris and Jean Thomason. Wow...what another lifetime ago.

Jing....Phoenix was GREAT! I loved working with the symphony..and the show was much fun. Thanks for your kind words. I'd love to come back!

Happy October to all of you. I love this time of year...and looking forward to the holidays!

Thanks for listening!

Nancy, I'm so glad you're coming to Baltimore as well. What a nice birthday gift to yourself! Be sure to come back and say hello.

Balin, I'm probably not going to be involved in this version of Hunchback....but thanks for asking. And thanks for the kind words. I've spoken to Dennis and he's really excited about this production in Chicago....it sounds like it's going to be very cool.

Mike,

the Bailiwick Theatre in Chicago (http://www.bailiwick.org/) has announced that Dennis DeYoung's production of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME will take the stage in May of 2008. Will you be reprising the starring role? I can't imagine seeing it without you. Let us know what you can.

Thanks,

Finally back home! Montana was, of course, a dream....but I'm thrilled to be back at my house in Nashville for a while! Thanks to everyone for keeping in touch. Deb...I'll send you an email as soon as I can find your email address. I'm not sure where it is listed above. If you get a chance, send a note to mike@mikeeldred.com and I'll reply. Re: the "new" CD....I've still got to pay for this holiday recording! But, trust me, I've been planning a new CD since the moment I finished the last one.....I'll keep you posted. Always great to hear from you!

Cathy, I'm so glad you enjoyed Godspell...it was magical for all of us! Thanks for writing and please keep in touch.

Linda, NOW I'm finally getting a little rest. My next performance is here in Nashville next weekend...I'm rehearsing for that now. Check out the recently updated calendar when you get a moment to see what's going on. The Live CD with Dennis is also available on DVD. I think you've got to visit www.dennisdeyoung.com to purchase it. It's a great concert. As always, thanks for your support! It's a pleasure hearing from you.

Everyone....please come and see me if I'm heading your direction!! Lots of new songs and beautiful melodies.....I'm enjoying performing more these days than EVER before...I'd love to share it with you.

Peace,
Mike

August 9, 2007

Hi Mike! Hope that you are getting a bit of a rest from your busy working schedule. I know that you have some performances coming up later in the fall and the upcoming holiday season. Is there anything in the near future? Since i couldn't make it to Montana! I have been listening to your accompiament with Dennis DeYoung on the "live" STYX CD with the Chicago Symphony. Question...was there just the CD? or was it recorded on DVD? WOW!!! Your beautiful & magnificent voice just blows me away more each time I hear you sing! Take care and have a wonderful rest of the summer. I look forward to hearing more from you {and maybe seeing you "live"} Take care! ~ Linda
