An evening of friendship, community, and memorable sights, all set to songs that inspire, comfort and remind us of our best selves. At a time when uncertainty permeates our every thought, Amazing Place; Mike Eldred and Friends in Concert is a reminder of the unfailing beauty and sanctuary of the great Rocky Mountains -- incomparable vistas, along with music of hope sung by great American talent. Join us for a special evening of inspiration and comfort.
Walk with us along the banks of lush Montana rivers and the shores of crystalline glacial lakes. Get lost with us, lost in the music and the reverie that can only be seen in the Rocky Mountains.
Format – Shot in HD (in compliance with the PBS Red Book), live to tape in front of a live audience, the performance will take place September 13, 2008 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center in fabulous Whitefish, MT, just outside Glacier National Park. This lovely, yet intimate, newly renovated 500 seat hall, has been lovingly referred to as Carnegie Hall West. The show will also include a large format projection screen with backdrops of Mike Eldred performing the same music in breathtaking venues across the Rocky Mountain front. Sweetened in Nashville and posted in Montana, we will also provide an audio CD, video DVD of the live concert, and a bonus DVD of the screen backdrop version of the concert. Special guest stars will participate. These guest stars will include the talented members of the Alpine Theatre Project, Country Music Award winner Sylvia Hutton, and award winning composer and arranger Jeff Steinberg.
Production Team – Amazing Place; Mike Eldred and Friends in Concert is being produced by Dodge Films, headquartered in Whitefish, MT. Dodge Films is headed by David Pickeral, a longtime veteran of public television in such organizations as WETA and PBS. Among his responsibilities at PBS, David focused on production improvements for fundraising/programming. David’s experience also includes camera and production responsibilities for such live shows as In Performance at the White House and A Capitol Fourth. David was also a Discovery Channel producer for such shows as Live from a Shark Cage, Trauma, Life in the ER, and the post 9/11 live special Behind the Terror.
